Contemporary English artist and art collector, Damien Hirst, has donated one of his limited edition artworks to Guernsey's healthcare system, to thank local staff for their work during the pandemic.
He created 'Butterfly Rainbow' in May to show support for the NHS during the covid-19 crisis.
The work is made up of bands of coloured butterfly wings - one of the artist's best known motifs.
"To receive this limited edition piece of artwork is such an honour," said Culture, Arts & Health Manager, Lottie Barnes. "I am delighted that it will be on permanent display at the Princess Elizabeth Hospital.
"To honour our health and care professionals, it will originally be displayed as part of a wider exhibition of artwork that was created or gifted during lockdown in the Bailiwick. The exhibition will open in November."

HSC received a donation of Mr Hirst's artwork alongside other UK hospital trusts who are also members of the Hospital Arts Manager Network.
"I wanted to do something to support the many people who are risking their lives to help those in need during this time of crisis," Mr Hirst said when he was asked about the artwork earlier this year.
The work was donated by Mr Hirst on the basis that it is always on view to the general public and it is never sold.
