The lifeboat was called out after a 16-year-old was cut off by the tide at La Cappelle islet.
On Friday (1 September) the Guernsey Coastguard received a call that a young boy had been cut off by the tide on an islet west of Perelle Bay.
The St Peter Port inshore lifeboat was called at 19:30. While an approach to the islet was difficult due to ‘moderate swell’ the team managed to safely bring the boy back to shore.
The incident has been highlighted as a “reminder for people exploring our coastline to check the tides”.
A spokesperson for the Guernsey Coastguard said: “If you don’t know what the tide is doing, you can quickly find yourself cut off from land.
“If you do find yourself in danger, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard.”
