The Condor Liberation has left the island for her annual dry dock in Falmouth.
The high-speed vessel is currently in the UK for routine maintenance and is expected back in the island by Friday 11 December.
The Rapide is due to have its annual service in the New Year and a spokesman for Condor Ferries said the dates had been staggered so that the operator has its full fleet available at the busiest periods this winter.
"There is no overlap with other ships, as Rapide will be sent into dry dock after New Year for a month," they said.
"This means we have our full fleet available for the peak travel periods of Christmas/New Year and February half term."
December is expected to see an increase in current passenger levels, with university students heading home in time for Christmas.
