A doctor who shares coping strategies for grief, based on his own personal experiences of loss, will be hosting a seminar later this month for all who might benefit, in association with Guernsey Bereavement Services.
Dr Bill Webster is Executive Director of the Centre for the Grief Journey and an international speaker. His talk is entitled ‘Floods of Tears, Rivers of Healing’, and will be delivered from 19:00 on 19 May at Les Cotils.
He will share two tales of grief: the loss of his wife in 1983, and the recent loss of his son in an accident. Through them, he will explain some of the methods he used to overcome the challenge of grief.
He also offers ways he gained a new perspective on life, and the ways to move forward after such a loss.
GBS said it would be an “inspiring story that encourages us all not to be defined, defeated or even destroyed by the vicissitudes of life, and how life can still be meaningful even in the light of a devastating loss”.
“Dr Bill is a great speaker, very engaging and is inspirational,” it added.
Tickets are not necessary, but the Service will ask for a minimum donation of £10 on the door.
