A house with a leaking roof means part of Brock Road will be one way for three weeks while work is done to fix it.
The property, near the junctions with Arsenal Road and Elm Grove, will need scaffolding outside it until the end of the month.
Because of the impact on the available road space and the risk to road users while the work is being carried out, the decision has been made to make the road one-way between the Arsenal Road and the Elm Grove traffic lights.
Diversions are in place, which will affect bus routes 31 and 32.
The diversion will take south bound motorists down Monument Road, which will also be temporarily one-way from Candie Road to Arsenal Road.
The additional one-way system is expected to have the most impact on nearby busy roads including the Grange and Doyle Road, during the morning and afternoon 'rush hours'.
Other road closures for the start of the new year include Le Friquet. All can be viewed at gov.gg/roadworks.
