Judgement "reserved" in civil case against Elizabeth College

Wednesday 04 April 2018

Judgement has been reserved in a civil case brought against Elizabeth College by a former member of school staff.

Dr Rob Harnish was formerly the Chaplain at the school, and also one of its Fencing Coaches, but he has not worked there for the last two years.

He brought the case, which was heard by Guernsey's Royal Court late last week.

In a statement, Elizabeth College's principal, Jenny Palmer, said: “Dr Rob Harnish is a former Chaplain and Fencing Coach who left the College’s employment in February 2016. The hearing was a contractual dispute brought by Dr Harnish and related to the degree to which the College can restrict access to its premises by members of the public."

Elizabeth College said it looked forward to receiving a decision on the matter soon.

Express was told judgement was reserved in the case following last week's hearing and it will be delivered upon notice.
