Nearly one hundred job vacancies were shared by the States two official platforms in the first four days of 2024 - with the vast majority being across education and health care settings.
By 10:00 on Friday 5 January, 58 vacancies within the civil service and public sector had been posted to the States of Guernsey's website.
17 of those vacancies were posted by Health and Social Care on New Year's Day, while 10 education roles were also put online on 1 January.
Some of the vacancies could result in multiple employees gaining work, such as through supply or relief staff within both education and health care settings.
A further 32 vacancies had been posted by the job centre - also on gov.gg - between 2 and 4 January.
These vacancies covered multiple sectors including retail and engineering, with some health care roles such as child and residential care positions and education roles such as minibus drivers.

Among the health related vacancies posted by the States of Guernsey were roles in medical and mental health nursing, midwifery, healthcare assistants, pharmacists, disability support workers, Quitline advisors, and Residential Small Home Managers.
The educational vacancies include mainly supply roles covering teaching, learning support assistants and lecturers, as well as minibus drivers, lunchtime supervisors, exam invigilators, and administration assistants.
Aside from health and education roles, the States are currently recruiting for a Resource Planning Officer on a two-year contract. This individual would be responsible for co-ordinating rotas among all staff at the prison.
The Skilled Trades department is looking for a Skilled Vehicle Technician and a Vehicle Diagnostic Technician to join States Works.
A Supply Chain Manager, a Registry Officer, Waste to Energy Plant Operative, and admin assistants are also being recruited.

One of the part-time rules being advertised by the States of Guernsey so far this year is the Head of Safety and Rulemaking.
The part-time role would see the successful applicant responsible for the co-ordination of all 'safety oversight activity' within the Office of the Director of Civil Aviation.
Vacancies at the Job Centre, outside of health and education include in retail, cleaning, and hospitality.
There are also vacancies for engineers in Guernsey and Alderney as well as Service Desk Analysts.
Guernsey Oysters is looking for a Trainee Oyster Farmer to join its team working in Herm.

The latest available data showed that by the end of September 2023 there were 291 people out of work in Guernsey and Alderney.
The States number crunchers said that compared to the same time the year before, the total number of people with no work and with some work has decreased slightly.
However, a higher number had no work at all with the number of new claims for employment and income-related benefits also increasing during September, with 38 new claims made, compared with 29 in the previous month.
