Guernsey's Public Health Services are expected to make an announcement shortly on the latest medical advice on vaccinations for people with severely weakened immune systems.
The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation has this week advised that a third primary dose be offered to individuals aged 12 years and over with severe immunosuppression.
These details – which can be read HERE – are being considered by local health services ahead of a final decision on how this advice will be implemented in Guernsey.
“The States of Guernsey is aware of the statement made yesterday by the JCVI and the UK Government.
“We will now assess the requirements for third dose vaccinations for people with severely weakened immune systems who meet the criteria as set out by the JCVI and will provide an update on how this will be deployed in the Bailiwick as soon as possible.
“In the meantime, please do not email Public Health Services or the Vaccine Contact Centre with specific requests for third dose vaccinations as we will be unable to provide you with a response.”
