A live stream of the World Indoor Bowls Championship was watched by "hundreds of thousands" of people, according to the Director of World Bowls who thanked and praised Guernsey after the island hosted last week's global event.
In her closing speech on Saturday afternoon, after Guernsey's Jason Greenslade won the men's singles title, Hazel Wilson took the time to thank everyone who had been involved in staging the event, as well as congratulating those who had taken part.
She said the competition had been well supported locally and by competitors, coaches, and supporters across the world, which was backed up by the huge audience watching the games via the live stream from the Hougue du Pommier.
Wilson said that she and others had enjoyed the island's hospitality and agreed that it is a beautiful place.
"I'll be taking back lots of lovely memories to Wales," she said.

Praising those involved in arranging the games in Guernsey particularly, she said "the organisation has been second to none".
She also wanted to thank the live streaming team "who spent most of their time in the rabbit hut behind the windows". That paid off though, with viewing figures "well into the hundreds of thousands".
"It's been amazing," was how she summed up the week long championships.
Ms Wilson closed the global competition by presenting Steve Quebec, the President of the Guernsey Indoor Bowling Association, a plaque on behalf of World Bowls and the IIBC. That will be put up at the Hougue du Pommier rink.
The World Indoor Bowls Championship is one of a handful of sports events being staged in Guernsey this year with entrants from elsewhere competing.
Guernsey is to be stage host for Rounds 7 and 8 of the Boatlife Angling Championship, an international event, sponsored by world leading brands which will help to highlight Guernsey as an angling destination and tap into a significant market in recreational sport.
A three-day British Isles DanceSport Championships targeting grassroots and professional competitors from across the British Isles is being held locally, with the potential to attract up to an estimated 1,000 visitors.
Meanwhile, the Guernsey Graniteman event is targeting overseas entries too.
Each of these three events has been given funding from the Tourism Development Fund to help advertise Guernsey as a destination.
