If you saw or heard a low flying plane over Guernsey yesterday and wondered what it was, wonder no more - as Guernsey Airport has confirmed what it was and why it was here.
The C-130 Hercules Transporter had flown across the Channel from RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire, England, so the crew could carry out a training mission.
One of the pilots on board was Guernseyman Dan Jeffery, a former Elizabeth College pupil.
He was among those carrying out 'approach training', as confirmed by Guernsey Airport.
Mr Jeffery commented on that post saying:
"As one of the pilots on board today, thank you to Guernsey Airport for allowing us to shoot some approaches; it’s valuable training and we appreciate the assistance.
"Also, thanks for allowing us a recce of the islands; it was good to see my old home from a different perspective. To anyone that we bothered with the noise...sorry!"
