A joint initiative by Guernsey and Jersey will see families given access to an online tool kit that supports better mental health and wellbeing.
The NHS’ Solihull Approach covers themes from pregnancy to taking your newborn child home, family dynamics to how brains change as we develop, across 15 courses aimed at educating and engaging the public.

Naomi Chandler, Team Manager for Guernsey’s Family Support Services, said the tool kit could be invaluable to members of our community.
“The courses aren’t there to replace any other support services that people are already accessing. This is supplementary for people to do as and when they want, in the privacy of their own homes.
“We’re hoping that everyone will want to log on and explore the courses that are most relatable to them.
“There’s something for everyone. From having babies, to supporting your child's transition from primary to secondary education, around teenagers and their brain development, or just people wanting to understand their own trauma or relationships.”
Guernsey paid £4,000 for the services from the NHS, in a joint license with Jersey, meaning islanders now have access to the courses online for free by using the code “WELCOME” and inputting a local postcode.
You can find out more about the initiative and the course on offer by visiting the Solihull Approach Website.
