Initial acts confirmed for Guernsey Air Display

Tuesday 07 March 2023

The RAF Red Arrows and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will return to Bailiwick skies on 14 September.

A Spitfire, Hurricane, and Lancaster Bomber will make up the memorial flight – with special significance attached to the latter in 2023.

The allocation of the Lancaster is particularly significant as 2023 marks the 80th anniversary of Operation Chatise, more commonly known as the Dambusters Raid, which was carried out by Avro Lancaster bombers,” said Natalie Davidson, Events Consultant at Black Vanilla - organisers of the Guernsey Air Display.

It will be wonderful to see this iconic plane displaying here in September."

The RAF events team has allocated the Guernsey display a Tutor, which is used as a training aircraft. The organisers have also applied for Ministry of Defence helicopters and should find out if these can feature soon.

Ms Davidson said, in the meantime, private display teams are being contacted to bulk up the line-up.

The final display line up will be dependent on the level of sponsorship that can be secured.  We have a number of Consortium membership levels as well as a Corporate Friend package people can get involved with,” she said.

There is also an individual Friends scheme, so all members of the community are able to show their support of this much-loved annual event.
