More information is needed about islanders lifestyles so a plan can be made for the future.
Since a survey on the topic was launched earlier this month, more than 800 people have filled it in, giving information on their lifestyle and recreation habits.
The Survey has been organised by the Public Health Institute at the Liverpool John Moores University and was commissioned by Guernsey Public Health Services, to collect information about Guernsey residents’ opinions and lifestyles on many aspects of health and wellbeing including gambling participation and attitudes to gambling.
Health and Social Care said the responses will help staff 'plan and improve health services to meet the population’s needs'.
Invitations to participate in the online survey were sent to 7000 households chosen at random and paper copies are also available. The survey will close on 30 November.
Head of Health Intelligence, Jenny Cataroche said:
“We are pleased with the response so far and we would like to thank everyone who has completed their survey on line or sent back their paper copy of the Questionnaire. However to ensure that our findings are reliable and accurate we would like to have as many responses as possible. I would therefore ask those people who have not yet participated to do so by 30 November at the latest.
The survey is also open to anyone over the age of 16. It is confidential and will not be linked back to individual respondents.
The replies will be collated by Liverpool John Moores University and will be analysed over the coming months. The results will be combined with discussions from several stakeholder events and interviews and the final report will be available next year.
The survey can be found online at gov.gg/lifestylesurvey and paper copies are available by telephoning Public Health Services Tel 707311.
