"Growing trend" in Guernsey relocation enquiries

Wednesday 28 October 2020

More than 300 guests from around the world attended the first virtual Locate Guernsey showcase this month, to find out more about moving to the island.

Due to the pandemic, the event wasn't able to go ahead in-person, but that didn’t stop attendees from finding out more about what the island has to offer from the comfort of their own homes.

The keynote was given by Stephen Lansdown CBE, former Chairman of Hargreaves Lansdown PLC, who discussed his personal experiences in Guernsey and why he decided to relocate to the island.

Attendees also heard from former Chief Minister Deputy Gavin St Pier, and Director of Locate Guernsey, Jo Stoddart, who explained how the Bailiwick continues to attract those in search of a "more convenient, safer, better" life:

“Yet again, the spirit of Guernsey Together has shone and helped make this event possible,” she said. “Local businesses have provided essential sponsorship and our fantastic speakers have kindly volunteered their valuable time. The high number of attendees reflects a growing trend in relocation enquiries.

“Guernsey has a great story to tell, and we enjoyed sharing it with an audience of potential future residents and their professional advisers.”

The Locate Guernsey Virtual Showcase is available for anyone to view online via the Locate Guernsey Website.
