The St John Healthcare Shop will close for good on Monday 20 February 2023, with many of its services being taken over by other businesses.

Since the original announcement was made warning of the shops closure, St John Commercial Services has been working with Mercury Distribution to provide continuity for the supply of certain healthcare products.

Discussions are also ongoing with other parties about potential continuity for some other parts of the healthcare operation.

St John said it also continues to work to support the shop staff at this difficult time. It employs 15 people - 13 full time and two part time. 

During the weeks leading up to the shop closure, it will be open on weekdays between 09:30 and 16:30.

A spokesperson said they would like "thank our customers for their business and support over the years". 

A closing down sale is underway, with up to 50% off various products while stocks last.

The Healthcare Shop has been managed by St John Commercial Services along with the Training Services which will continue beyond the shop closure.

The St John organisation also oversees the St John Ambulance and Rescue Service (SJARS); which runs the emergency and community ambulance services, and St John Guernsey; which runs all charitable and volunteer led first aid services locally. Neither the ambulance and rescue service or the volunteer led service are affected by the shop closure‌
