Guernsey's fleet of EVie bikes to increase significantly

Sunday 12 September 2021

Jersey’s green fleet of EVie bikes will soon be shipped across to Guernsey after the larger Channel Island took delivery of 180 new bikes.

Following delays caused by the Suez Canal blockage, a worldwide shortage of microchips and the ongoing HGV driver crisis, 60 new bikes have now arrived in Jersey with a further 120 expected imminently.

The bikes can be hired via the new EVie App. The app’s pricing system has been updated so that the best rate is automatically applied to each trip.

Guernsey’s EVie fleet, which currently stands at 25, is set to expand significantly.

The bikes were first installed on the island in April as part of a ‘soft launch’ ahead of planned growth in the size of the fleet over time.
