Guernsey's schools take on the annual De Putron Challenge today, to find the island champions who will then go head to head against the winners from next week's Jersey heats in the inter-island final.
Teams from year 6 and 8 and post 16 are taking part, with their class mates all going along to support them in their efforts.
The Guernsey heats are being staged at St James, where the pupils will be quizzed on a number of topics all relating to this year's theme of 'Your World'.
Those topics will include questions on nature and the environment as well as traditional quiz rounds in maths and English.
Their quiz master this year is Express Editor Laura Clayton.
She will also be hosting the Jersey heats next Wednesday, before the inter island final later this month.
At that time, the overall winners in each island will compete in a Year 6, Year 8 and post 16 final in Jersey.
