An "aggravated burglary" has taken place at Vale Service Station [30 April].
The incident saw the garage cordoned off by Guernsey Police, who have now launched an investigation into what happened.
The police have provided the following statement:
"Police enquiries are continuing into an aggravated burglary.
"Early this morning [30 April], between 3.30am-3.45am, an individual has entered Vale Service Station and assaulted a member of staff, causing injuries that required hospital treatment. The perpetrator has attempted to steal items from the safe before leaving on foot in the direction of Route Des Coutures.
"The suspect was described as wearing dark clothing and dark coloured rucksack.
"Guernsey Police would like to appeal to anyone with any information regarding this offence, particularly if you were in the area at the time or have dash cam or CCTV footage. This was a particularly violent offence and Crimestoppers is offering a reward of £750 for information leading to the arrest, charge and conviction of the offender.
"Anyone with information is asked to call police on 01481 222222 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
Express has asked Guernsey Police if there were any injuries, after it was reported online that one person was hurt during the incident.

"Police enquiries are continuing into an aggravated burglary that took place between 3.30am-3.45am yesterday morning (Tuesday 30th April). The suspect is described as a white male, who was wearing dark clothing and had a dark coloured rucksack.
"The perpetrator’s face was largely covered by a pulled down beanie or similar. He attempted to steal items from the safe before leaving on foot in the direction of Route Des Coutures.
"Guernsey Police is continuing to appeal to anyone with any information regarding this offence, particularly if you were in the area at the time or have dash cam or CCTV footage. This was a particularly violent offence and Crimestoppers is offering a reward of up to £750 for information leading to the arrest, charge and conviction of the offender.
"Anyone with information is asked to call police on 01481 222222 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
