Guernsey is Covid-free, the Civil Contingencies Authority announced today.
It has been 27 days since a new case of the corona virus was detected in the island and Guernsey has had just a single active case for more than a week.
That patient remains in hospital, but is no longer testing positive for Covid-19.
"We do still have one person in hospital who was admitted because of Covid but no longer has an active infection," said Public Health Director Dr Nicola Brink. "So we have no active cases in the Bailiwick. It is good day for us, but we do hope that person has a speedy recovery."
The short briefing, which was led by Dr Brink and CCA Chairman Peter Ferbrache, is expected to be the last one before the Easter Bank Holiday. Another has been scheduled for two weeks' time, as preparations ramp up for the introduction of a travel traffic light system on 30 April.
