The Guernsey Literary Festival is staging a series of special events to coincide with the release of the new film The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, including a Q&A session with one of the book's authors today.
Annie Barrows is the niece of Mary-Ann Schaffer, who died before she had finished writing the book. Ms Barrows completed the book and has been involved with the production of the film.
Today she, along with the film producer Paula Mazur and screenwriter Thomas Bezucha will be appearing at three events at St James where they'll discuss the genre of historical fiction, before a discussion about adapting the book for the big screen, with the afternoon ending with a group discussion involving each of the three talented individuals.
It starts at 10:00 with different start times for the three events taking place today. There is more information here.
On Monday 16 April the co-author of the book will be speaking at two schools.
In the morning, Ms Barrows will be taking part in a Joint Secondary educational event and Q&A, being held at Les Beaucamps High School with Year 9 students. That afternoon, Hautes Capelles School will host a Joint Primary educational event and Q&A.
Each event has been supported by Praxis IFM and The Committee for Education, Sport and Culture with further information here.
