Following her appointment, Dr Conroy said: "Anaesthesia can often be the most frightening part of an operation for a patient, and it is my job to build a rapport, support the patient and allay their fears, and to care for them from the first interaction in the pre-assessment clinic to the recovery room.
"My job is so varied and each patient is so different, from a patient who has had multiple surgeries to a child who is having their first operation."
Directorate Chair of Anaesthesia, Dr Michelle Le Cheminant, said: "We’re delighted to welcome Clare to the MSG. She brings a wealth of experience in anaesthesia for obstetrics, emergency surgery and trauma, as well as an interest in medical education.
"I’ve no doubt that her skillset will be a valuable addition to the department."
