Guernsey expert flown in as search for Jersey missing man intensifies

Saturday 18 February 2023

Jersey Police are continuing the search for a 51-year-old man not seen since Saturday night, with advice now being sought from Guernsey's missing person specialist.

Thomas Frost was last seen at his parents' address, situated on a lane above L'Etacq in St. Ouen, on Saturday 11 February around 22:00.

A specialist team of around 30 detectives and search officers has been put together to look for him.

So far, searches using planes, drones and lifeboats have been unable to locate Mr Frost.

Yesterday, a Police Search Advisor (POLSA) from Guernsey flew over in support of SoJP’s own POLSA, to offer additional advice and guidance in relation to searching, to ensure that the searching taking place is correctly coordinated and remains effective.

Police officers also began putting up posters yesterday around St. Ouen and St. Peter. Detectives are also continuing house-to-house enquiries in St. Ouen and are doing leaflet drops in both St. Ouen and St. Peter.

This afternoon, officers reiterated their appeal for any CCTV, dash-cam or doorbell footage that could be helpful to the investigation and encouraged residents in the west to check their outdoor areas, sheds, gardens, garages and to assist any neighbours that might not be able to check themselves.

Mr Frost is 51 years old, 5ft 10, of medium build with greying hair. It’s believed that he is wearing a crimson red t-shirt underneath a navy shirt with white buttons and navy jeans. He also may be wearing a light grey hoodie over his shirt and it is still thought that he didn’t have shoes on him when he disappeared.

Anyone with information should call police on 01534 612612, selecting option 2, then option 4.
