Guernsey entertainment booking hub launches

Friday 10 November 2023

A new central hub for booking bands and solo artists has been launched in Guernsey, with the added benefit of offering booking for amps and other vital equipment too.

Launched by musicians Mike Meinke and Kiya Nico Ashton, guernseyentertainment.gg is intended to fill a gap they had both noticed.

Mike - who performs as a soloist and with Buffalo Huddleston - said that he and his bandmates are often asked to recommend other acts if they themselves aren't available. The new online hub will mean enquiries can go directly to a wider network of artists.

"If you're looking for some entertainment for your events, that could be corporate, it could be a wedding, or a party or something, and you don't know about the local scene or you can't find anyone to play, we'll help you," he said.

"You contact us, we'll sort the PA, we'll sort the band, and we'll just supply you with one invoice.

"If one (band) can't do it, this is a way of finding someone else who's free. Some of the bands in Guernsey get very, very busy and we get so many inquiries just us that we can't always do, and then the follow up question is always, 'who can you recommend?' So I think this is filling a little gap in the market in Guernsey."

Mike says there are other ticketing platforms but this is different as it will act like a booking agency.

"We've never had a booking agency and it makes sense, it's one of those things that just makes sense," he said.
