October Reading Group: Remarkably Bright Creatures

ReadingGroup.png

Join the wonderful and welcoming team at the Guille-Alles Library for this month's reading group, taking place on Thursday 24 October from 19:30, and Saturday 26 October from 15:30.

For October, the group will be discussing Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt.

The book, which has been on the New York Times hardcover fiction best-seller list multiple times, follows the story of a widow named Tova Sullivan.

It has been described as "a luminous debut novel about a widow's unlikely friendship with a giant Pacific octopus reluctantly residing at the local aquarium - and the truths she finally uncovers about her son's disappearance 30 years ago."

Van Pelt's debut novel is a reminder that sometimes taking a hard look at the past can help uncover a future that once felt impossible.

Copies of the novel are available from the library, and this reading group will take place in the Rowswell Room on the second floor.
