Mr Scruff Takeover - Mirror Ball Night

Mirror Ball Nights are back with a bang this Saturday, as St James welcomes the talented, multi-genre selector Mr Scruff to the stage!

“Manchester-based Mr. Scruff is a producer, cartoonist and cross-genre selector who loves to play long DJ sets, and occasionally B2B sets with similarly wide-eared end excitable DJs. His DJ sets can range from deep soul/funk/reggae/afro/jazz/latin/hip-hop to harder edged electro/house/new wave/techno/electronic, often all in the same night.”

If you’ve got a passion for funk, soul, disco and hiphop, or just love a good boogie; you’re going to want to keep this Saturday night free.

Tickets are still available but they’re going fast, don’t miss your spot on the dancefloor!

SIX: Teen Edition

Are you a theatre lover? History buff? A musical fan? This is the event for you. From Wednesday the 28th of February until Saturday the 2nd of March, The Cheshire Dramatic Arts Academy will be gracing the stage of St James with their new production: ‘SIX: The Teen Edition’.

Suitable for all ages, the uplifting plot focuses on reclaiming the stories of historical female figures, told in a modern, humorous and engaging style. With a total of 5 performances taking place over 4 days, there’s plenty of opportunity to secure your seat at this inspiring show.

Fittingly, the last of the 5 performances will kickstart International Women's Month, and to celebrate, both casts will be let loose LIVE onstage in a special one-night only smash-hit gig of SIX: Teen Edition. Pick up your tickets today!

GAN Skillshare: Japanese calligraphy with Naoko Mauger

Save the date and secure your place… Guernsey Art Network’s ‘Skillshare’ sessions return on Tuesday the 5th of March! Taking place in the Guernsey Chamber of Commerce Headquarters from 6pm, this month's session will focus on Japanese calligraphy, also known as ‘Shodo’. It is one of the oldest surviving traditional Japanese art forms, having emerged in Japan in the 4th Century. During this class, you will learn about space and character formation, how to form the Japanese word for Spring in beautiful sweeping brush strokes, and create your own 2024 Japanese Calendar!
