Guard of honour for Maya's last Saints game

Thursday 24 May 2018

Guernsey's teenage football star Maya Le Tissier has been given a guard of honour as she played her final game for her childhood club, St Martins.

Having played for Saints since the age of four, Maya is moving to the UK at 16, aiming to kick start her professional football career.

Her last local football game saw St Martin's under 15s host the under 16s in the Normandie cup final at Blanche Pierre Lane.

The u16s won 3-1 with Maya captaining the side. Her team mates in both age groups then cheered her as she left the pitch watched by her family, friends and club supporters.

Maya is moving to the UK following a successful start to an international career which has already seen her captain the England side at u16 level.
