Two charities will benefit from fundraising efforts of Deloitte staff taking on a 24-hour challenge this weekend.
The aim is to raise money and complete as many laps as possible of a route that takes in the Val des Terres to see how many times the walkers can climb the equivalent of Mount Everest.
Each lap is 1.6km and has 77m of elevation, with a total of 115 laps being the equivalent of the total height of Mount Everest, 8849m.
Team members can complete as many laps as they would like at any point throughout the 24-hour window, ranging from a couple of laps, a couple of hours or the whole 24 hours.
Deloitte Guernsey supports Grow as part of its Five Million Futures initiative, a wider group strategy which aims to help five million people overcome barriers to education and employment so they can achieve their full potential.
This year the company is also teaming up with the Val Des Terres Everest Challenge, sponsored by We Move As One, and raising funds for Les Bourgs Hospice.
Mandy Mackleworth, General Manager at Grow, said: "The Grow team are incredibly grateful for the continued support from Deloitte and to David Becker for rising to the 24 hour challenge again this year.
"Some of our crew, staff, parent carers and board will be joining the team during the 24 hours to show their appreciation. The money raised will help us to continue the work we do at Grow to support people with learning disabilities and difficulties to gain skills to enable them into the workplace."
Rob Jones, CEO of Les Bourgs Hospice, said: "As an essential frontline service in providing specialist palliative hospice care we rely entirely on donations to provide 24 hour care 365 days a year. This includes complex respite and symptom management as well as bereavement support for the families of patients . We are incredibly grateful to Deloitte for their support and their courage and determination in undertaking such a challenge."
Last year David Becker, Partner at Deloitte, kept going for the whole 24 hours.
"It was a real challenge but I found it to be a very social event and I'm looking forward to taking part again.
"It's great that the team can do as little or as much as they want, making it fun and accessible for anyone. It's great to be supporting two amazing local charities which do so much good for the community. Last year 36 people from the Guernsey team completed 335 laps and we are looking to do even better this year."
The Deloitte 24-hour Challenge will start at 9am on Saturday and end at 9am on Sunday.
Any donations would be appreciated and can be made here.
