Garenne creditors meetings called

Friday 10 May 2024

Three creditors meetings have been called for later this month, in relation to the ongoing fall out from the collapse of the Garenne Group and its subsidiary companies.

The Group went into liquidation in April last year after being found to be insolvent.

Numerous creditors of companies within the Garenne family met with the liquidators soon after the Group collapsed, where they were told that it was unlikely they would get any money back.

Those creditors included many other construction businesses as well as individuals.

Now, creditors of the Garenne Group, Garenne Construction Group, and Hurel Limited (formerly RG Falla) have been invited to meetings at St James on 23 May.

The meetings will be held at 09:00, 10:00, and 11:00 respectively in the Dorey Room.

Creditors of each business will be asked to approve changes to the personnel dealing with the liquidation process.

Previously, the matter was being dealt with by two staff from each of Interpath Advisory and KPMG Advisory.

Now, Leonard Gerber - who was previously listed as being a joint liquidator from KPMG Advisory - is listed as sole liquidator working for Leonard Curtis CI Limited.

Creditors will be asked to approve the appointment of Matthew Wright, also of Leonard Curtis CI Limited as Joint Liquidator.

They will also be asked to approve the Liquidator's report - which will include details of the progress made so far - along with approving receipts and payments for the liquidation process between 31 March 2023 and 30 March 2024.

Any creditor unable to attend the meetings can use a proxy to vote. Proxies must be registered by 12 noon on 22 May.
