Last weekend, Guernsey hosted His Excellency Mr Vikram K. Doraiswami; Indian High Commissioner and First Secretary for Trade and Economy, Mr Jaspreet Singh Sukhija.
Darren J Vogel, from the Royal Commonwealth Society said he was "delighted" with the visit, which saw the pair spend time in St Peter Port.
After meeting the Lieutenant-Governor, The Bailiff, and the Chief Minister, His Excellency enjoyed a brief tour of the seafront before meeting numerous RCS members and 40 invited guests from the Indian Community at La Vallette Bathing Pools.
Mr Vogel said: "Many topics were discussed and His Excellency shared his memories of his brief tour of St Peter Port, with the Bathing Pool area understood to be a particular highlight. He also spoke of his hopes of closer relations with the Bailiwick, all the Channel Islands and India."

Hot Masala Chai and authentic Goan Chaat and other food, snacks, and sweets were served by Audrey Castanha of Amchi Bus with assistance from family and friends and the La Vallette team and staff.
Hariyali Paneer and Gajar Halwa were contributed by Joyce and Tony Fernandes of Taste of India along with Samosas generously contributed by Dilip Kumar of The Manor Hotel.
Mr Vogel said to maintain RCS charitable funds whilst covering the cost of catering and helping the not-for-profit 'Vive La Vallette' venue, guests made a suggested contribution of £10 or £20 per person.
Contributions are still welcome through the Royal Commonwealth Society (RCS) account held with RBS International.

Also Helen Bonner-Morgan of Vive La Villette, Rahul Bhintade and family and all the Guernsey Indian community.
"I do hope you will all be able to attend our next and larger Indian Commonwealth event."
