The Skipton Swimarathon has raised a record breaking £80,000 this year, with 2,500 people taking the dive for charity.

The two main beneficiaries of this year’s Swimarathon are Citizens Advice Guernsey and the Priaulx Premature Baby Foundation. The remaining funds will be split between various other good causes through the Lions Club of Guernsey and Guernsey Round Table.

“2021’s Skipton Swimarathon has been a huge success,” said its Chairman Nick Guillemette.

“I would like to thank everyone who swam and to all those who supported and sponsored our swimmers. Their great support has ensured that charities in the Bailiwick will benefit.”

Guernsey’s Director of Public Health, Dr Nicola Brink, will present the Swimarathon awards during a special presentation on 13 October.

“This year was my last at the helm of the organising team, and I am delighted that we have beaten all records raising money for local charities,” concluded Mr Guillemette.
