One of Condor’s competitors to operate Channel Island ferry services held a successful berthing trial in Guernsey.

DFDS’ Seven Sisters arrived at 12:37 today having docked in Jersey earlier.

"The Seven Sisters RoPax vessel undertook a successful berthing trial in St Peter Port Harbour this afternoon," a Guernsey Harbours spokesperson said.

"Her visit was part of ongoing contingency planning arrangements and took place without any disruption to scheduled ferry services."

An announcement is expected on who the preferred operator of the Channel Island routes is expected this month.

Seven Sisters usually operates between the UK and France.

She can carry 600 passengers and 224 cars with 50 cabins and is 142.63 meters long, 24.2 meters wide.

She was launched in 2006.

Seven sisters departed St Peter Port at 14:53.
