GALLERY: Civil Protection closes seafront due to "abnormally high tide"

An “abnormally high” ten-metre tide saw The Quay closed this morning, and Bailiwick Law Enforcement said the road will likely be closed again tomorrow morning.

Civil Protection Volunteers initially closed the road to all traffic between the Weighbridge Roundabout and the Albert Monument, but by 8:40 had started allowing northbound traffic through.

The flooding was due to a 10.1metre tide peaking at 8:18. It’s understood that another 10metre tide is expected tomorrow:
