A Crowdfunding page has been set up to help pay for the funeral costs of the man who died in Herm this week.
30-year-old Maciek Jaśkiewicz is believed to have lived in the island for four years, working for the current managers as well as their predecessors.
Mr Jaśkiewicz is believed to have died suddenly on Monday 4 November, and the cause of his death is not yet known.
His death has left the small island community shocked and saddened, and they are rallying around to support his family and friends.
The JustGiving page was set up by 'the community of Herm' who have said they want to 'support Maciek’s family through this difficult time'.
The person who set the page up wrote:
"Maciek was truly magic. A loving, kind, thoughtful member of our community who will be sadly missed by many and will forever hold a place in all of our hearts. Maciek has been a part of our community for 4 years and offered a help in hand to us all at some point in time.
"If any of Maciek’s friends, family, colleagues and former colleagues would like to contribute to help the family it will be greatly appreciated. The contribution would help with getting Maciek safely home to his family and the funeral costs."
As well as the online collection page, cash donation can be given in to the Herm admin office. Herm’s Service Team have already contributed towards the unexpected costs.
