Freight moving into the islands again

Friday 03 November 2023

Commodore Goodwill docked in Guernsey just after 05:00 this morning before heading to Jersey, with additional freight set to roll off the Clipper early tomorrow.

Storm Ciaran has now passed through the English Channel allowing essential freight routes to be re-opened.

Channel Chieftain V arrived from Jersey at 05:30, while Trinity also arrived from the sister isle just before 11:00. Trinity is due to head to Alderney at 17:00.

The Clipper is expected into Guernsey around midnight from Portsmouth and will be carrying freight and passengers, before returning to the UK at 02:00. The ship will not call at Jersey as previously scheduled.

But disruption is ongoing to passenger services from the island with today’s and tomorrow's (Saturday) Condor Voyager sailing to Jersey and St Malo cancelled.

Services on Sunday and Monday for high-speed services are under review due to forecasted weather disruption which could bring “a significant risk of disruption”, but passengers can change to alternative services on Tuesday 7 November.

Sailing times have also been amended for Saturday’s Clipper service.

The Condor Islander remains in dry-dock in Liverpool after experiencing thruster issues just days after entering service.
