A walk is being held today as part of Foster Care Fortnight; the annual event raising awareness, which also thanks foster families in Guernsey.
Guernsey's Family Placement Service team said "Foster Care Fortnight is a great time to challenge the myths and misconceptions about fostering," adding that anyone can show their support for fostering.
The overarching message of Foster Care Fortnight is "foster care transforms lives" and it's hoped more families will consider fostering as a result of the awareness raising initiatives.
The Family Placement Service said "foster care doesn't just transform the lives of the young people who are fostered; it also has the power to change the lives of foster carers, their families and all those who are involved in fostering."
As part of Foster Care Fortnight, HSC has been sharing the stories of people who have had their lives transformed by foster care, and by doing so, it aims to raise the profile of fostering and the need for more foster carers.
Today's Foster Care Walk starts from Grandes Rocques at 11:00, heading to Ladies Bay, where foster carers, supporters, families and their dogs will all be welcome to stay on the beach or at the play park with a picnic lunch.
Those walking are asked to wear bright colours.
