Offices in Grange Road which used to house Education staff have been put on the market for £1,750,000.
Grange Road House was the subject of a Draft Development Framework as a likely housing site in June and has now been listed by Watts Property Consultants.
The offices were vacated in 2017 when civil servants for Education, Sport & Culture moved into Frossard House.
The site is designated as a Housing Allocation site in the Island Development Plan and a framework for its possible use was drawn up last year.
It earmarked residential use as the most suitable option, but did not specify the number, mix and type of residential units, saying that will be influenced by the "historic setting and the requirement to preserve the special interest of the Protected Building on site."

Watts has included details about the Development Framework on its listing of the site, which is currently owned by the States.
"Under the Island Development Plan, 2016, the site is located within the St Peter Port Main Centre Inner Area and also falls within the St Peter Port Conservation Area. As the site is designated as a Housing Allocation site, the policies of the plan are generally supportive of residential redevelopment.
"A Development Framework has been prepared in this respect and was adopted in September 2019.
"This allows for a comprehensive scheme for the whole site in order to make the most effective and efficient use of land. The demolition of the non-protected buildings is therefore encouraged, as is the redevelopment of the hard standing areas which may provide an opportunity to improve the landscaping of the site.
"The exact number of residential units on the site will depend on the detailed design but proposals will be expected to provide a mix and type of housing that is reflective of the demographic profile of households requiring housing."
