A cluster of covid cases has been discovered in the Mignot Memorial Hospital in Alderney.
Four cases were identified after two staff and two patients tested positive.
It brings the total number of cases in Alderney to 23, after the island saw multiple cases of community seeding pop up in the last two months.
Pictured: The hospital has been closed to visitors while contact tracing is carried out and all medical staff will now be working in PPE.
Despite its closure, the hospital will still be accessible for end of life care visits. Lateral flow testing and the use of PPE will be used to safeguard these people.
Everyone in the hospital is being tested daily and all staff are now working in full PPE.
The States of Alderney is monitoring the situation and will be updating the public on any developments.
