A fire appliance was involved in a collision at one of Guernsey's busiest traffic light junctions over the weekend.

Guernsey Fire and Rescue Service says it collided with another vehicle at the Ville au Roi/Mount Row junction on Saturday morning.

The accident happened at around 10:00 leaving the road closed for just over an hour while the emergency services dealt with it. No one was injured.

Head of Operations for the Guernsey Fire and Rescue service, Pierre Laine said:

"We can confirm that a fire appliance was responding to an emergency call at around 10am when it was involved in a two vehicle RTC at the junction of Ville au Roi and Mount Row.  A Police investigation is being carried out and the Guernsey Fire and Rescue Service are assisting Police with their enquiries".
