Feedback sought from those who contracted Covid

Friday 14 May 2021

Public Health is asking people who tested positive for Covid-19 between September 2020 and March 2021 to complete a questionnaire about their experiences.

The questionnaire will help the team to understand the possible healthcare needs of people who have had the virus, the effects of different variants and the difference that being partly or fully vaccinated made on the person who tested positive.

"It is really important that we learn more about how Covid-19 impacted on those who contracted the virus between the first and second waves of infection, from 6 September until 21January), as well as those who became infected during Wave 2," said Public Health Director Dr Nicola Brink.

"Of particular interest is the impact of the Kent variant that was circulating in Wave 2. We are also interested to learn more about the effect of vaccination.

"This survey will inform how we plan and improve services for Islanders who may contract the SARS-CoV-2 virus in the future, as well as providing information on the long-term impact in people who have had Covid-19 locally."

The survey is open from today until 31 May 2021 and can be completed online HEREPaper copies of the survey can be requested by calling 01481 227311 or by emailing publichealth@gov.gg.

Parents and guardians of children aged under-16 who had a positive diagnosis are invited to complete the survey on their behalf.
