51-year-old Nigel Le Page has been confirmed as the man who died suddenly while working on George Street in the early hours of Monday morning.
Guernsey Police confirmed his identity this afternoon, and also said that Mr Le Page's death is not being treated as suspicious at this time.
The police spokesperson offered their thoughts and condolences to Mr Le Page's family and friends while confirming that "enquiries are ongoing" into the cause of his death.
George Street in St Peter Port was closed from very late on Sunday night through Monday morning while Guernsey Police dealt with the incident.
It is believed Mr Le Page had been working on a refuse lorry in the area immediately before his death.
