Need to kickstart your New Year’s resolutions? The Saffery Rotary Walk may be the opportunity you're looking for....

Set to take place on Saturday 7 June, the 39 mile challenge invites participants of all abilities to push their physical limit while supporting local charities.

Organisers have said that reduced cost 'Early bird' registration for the highly anticipated event is still open, albeit for a limited time.

One of the biggest single fundraising events in Guernsey, last year's event saw a record number of walkers raise over £90,000 which was shared between 21 organisations.

For the 2025 edition of the walk, 'early bird' registration costs £37.

Calling it an "ideal" way to kickstart any New Year's fitness resolutions, walk Chairman Simon Milsted said signing-up and training for the challenge will "encourage physical activity and contribute to mental wellness".

Simon Milsted, Walk Chairman said: “Early training for the walk will encourage physical activity, contribute to your mental wellness, and walk day itself offers the rewarding feeling of being part of Guernsey’s most iconic community event.

"Participants can take pride in completing a challenging feat while knowing their efforts directly benefit our local community. Whether you’re a seasoned walker or taking your first steps toward a healthier lifestyle, the walk offers an exciting way to accomplish your goals.”

Lisa Vizia, Director of Saffery Trust, added that funds raised by walkers makes a "real difference" to many local causes.

“By signing up for the walk, you are not only setting fitness goals, but you are affording yourself the opportunity to make a real difference to so many worthwhile causes. All proceeds from the event go toward supporting vital charities, ensuring your effort has a lasting impact.”

Individuals, groups and teams can register for the event next summer around Guernsey's coastline.

“The Walk offers you the chance to forge real connections with other walkers," Ms Vizia added. "Whether you walk solo, with friends, or as part of a team, the event fosters a sense of unity and achievement that participants cherish long after the finish line.”
