An event focused on internet safety and encouraging people's digital creativity is taking place at Beau Sejour today.
The third Digital Ace event aims to get people to aspire, create and empower themselves, and is running from 12:00 - 17:00 this afternoon.
Lucy Witham, Head of Digital for Economic Development and event coordinator for the Online Safety committee, said: "Digital ACE has grown 10 fold in four years, with well over 2,500 people attending last year, showing just how important events focusing on online safety and the exponential growth of technology are to both the community and business.
"We are particularly pleased to welcome the University of the 3rd Age to Digital ACE, who will be providing support specifically to our older generation with digital skills and cyber security."
Tracey Moore, chair of the Guernsey Online Safety committee, added: “I would encourage every family to visit Digital Ace. There will lots of opportunities see and try exciting new technology as well hearing key messages about how to help you and your family safe online.”
This free event is aligned with the successful annual event, Safer Internet Day. It will provide guidance on online safety and security and also showcase the many areas that digital touches our lives in a very positive way.
