Following numerous planning refusals, a developer has won an appeal to build two houses on the ‘triangle field’ opposite Alliance.
Hillstone Guernsey Limited had its first application refused in 2018 and consequently had another application refused in 2019. The director of Hillstone Guernsey Limited then applied again in 2020.
Simon Holland saw the third application refused at the end of last year, but he appealed this latest refusal alongside another company director.

The Planning Tribunal decided to approve the appeal and grant planning permission “subject to the terms and conditions set out [in the appeal decision notice]”.
The controversial decision has been met with concern from a number of people on Facebook, to the point where a petition has been created online.
The site was bought and zoned for new homes in 2018 by Hillstone for £420,000. The intention is to build two three-bedroom homes on the field with 17 planning conditions needing to be met.
