Charities intending to apply for a grant from the Christmas Lottery are being reminded that the deadline for applications is the end of January.
The Association of Guernsey Charities has already received a number of applications, but it said it was keen to ensure that no organisations miss the application chance.
"This will be the only opportunity for Guernsey charities to receive a lottery grant this year, and we would like to support as many projects and schemes as possible," Malcolm Woodhams, Chairman of the AGC, said. "The Christmas Lottery always raises a large amount of money, and it is important the proceeds are distributed to good causes which work throughout our community."
Last year £212,677 was distributed to charities, helping a total of 34 local organisations with a variety of different projects.
Charities can apply for a grant online at the Association of Guernsey Charities' website.
"We usually receive a large number of applications, each of which is read by the nine members of the AGC Council before we meet to discuss potential grant recipients. It is a thorough process, including inspection of the charity accounts. Our aim to assist projects which will have the maximum impact," Mr Woodhams continued.
"The form is intentionally kept simple and straightforward to encourage as many charities as possible to apply. However, it is important that applicants fully complete the form with as much detail as possible. We need to clearly see the impact of the proposed service or project so that we ascertain where lottery grants will provide maximum benefit."
Charities applying for a grant will need a full set of accounts available.
