74 cruise liners are so far scheduled to call at Guernsey in 2024, with two major operators pulling out the route.
More visits may be added to or removed from the itinerary prior to the start of the season in April.
The largest ships planning to visit this year include the ms Nieuw Statendam (3,214), P&O’s Ventura (3,087), and Royal Caribbean's Jewel of the Seas (2,501).
The most frequent ships are those that carry around 1,000 passengers or less.
This fits in with the future direction for cruises locally as announced by Economic Development last year after the major cruise line Princess announced it would no longer sail to the island. MSC won't sail to the island either, meaning a loss of one of the largest ships to visit the island - the 5,500+ passenger Virtuosa.
The States said last year it’s “currently targeting new business, in particular smaller high-end cruise companies which are an excellent fit for our product”.
Some of the smaller ships visit Herm, Sark and Alderney too. 2 trips are planned to Sark, with four apiece for the other islands.
2023 saw 95 liners planning to visit but as ever there are cancellations due to weather and last-minute itinerary changes. This was down from 130 listings in 2022 where 44 had to cancel.
The first ship of this season is slated to visit on April 7, with the final arriving in port on 14 October.
