Criminals use Guernsey trust company's name in advanced fees fraud

Thursday 27 June 2024

Criminals have been using a Guernsey trust company’s details in a fraud scheme.

They are attempting to get people to pay upfront for trust services in an advanced fee fraud scheme.

People who have been conducting business with CST-Financien have been told to contact the Guernsey Financial Services Commission’s Intelligence Team for guidance.

Credit Suisse Trust Limited is a Guernsey registered company and is licensed by the Commission,” a GFSC spokesperson said.

“However, it has been noted that criminals have been using the company’s details in an advance fee fraud.  The fraud scheme has included the setting up of a fake website in the name of CST-Efinancien and falsely claiming that it is part of Credit Suisse Trust Limited.”
