Could you set up shop in the airport?

Monday 29 April 2024

There is an opportunity for someone to take over the landside shop at Guernsey Airport.

Guernsey Ports is now looking for expressions of interest for the shop on a four-month lease over the summer months.

The shop has been closed for several years and was last leased by WHSmith.

“This is an exciting opportunity for local businesses and entrepreneurs in a prime location at Guernsey Airport during the summer months, when passenger footfall is at its highest,” said Ports Commerical Development Project Manager, David Buddery.

“Last year, between June and September, around 280,000 passengers travelled through Guernsey Airport. On top of that, many of those passengers will have been met landside or waved off by family and friends, all of whom are potential customers.

“The space is available for an immediate start and there is lots of potential either for a single business or for multiple ‘pop-up’ style stall holders. The space would be suitable for those with a focus on local products and unique gift ideas.

“We are keen to hear from people with fresh ideas who can bring something new to Guernsey Airport’s current offering and operate a successful summer business.”

Enquiries and subsequent bids should be directed to david.buddery@ports.gg before the 13 May.
