GROW's £3million redevelopment of its premises at Les Petits Quartiers will be boosted by money raised at the 2022 Skipton Swimarathon.
GROW - which this year is the charity partner of Express' sister title, Connect - has been named as the beneficiary of the popular annual swimming event, which will take place in October.
Organisers of the Swimarathon, which has been running since 1977, say it has grown to become the island's single largest community fundraiser and has donated more than £1.6million to local good causes.
In 2021, the Swimarathon raised more than £85,000 for local charities, breaking its record for the second year running.
Money raised at this year’s event will contribute towards the construction of a new training café at GROW, which will be used to prepare and serve fresh produce when the charity, which supports people with a learning disability, returns to its redeveloped site in spring 2023.

Jess Aughton, the new General Manager at GROW, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to be confirmed as the major charity to benefit from this year’s Swimarathon.
"Members of our Crew (as our attendees are known) always enjoy taking part in the event, which makes this commitment to GROW even more special.
"The funds will cover the cost of furniture and equipment for the training café along with the installation of a sensory garden in the foreground where customers can enjoy a relaxed ambience while they sample home-made fayre."
GROW's redeveloped premises in St Sampson's will be based around three new areas - greenhouses, a facilities centre and a hospitality and retail training centre. The charity says it will be lifechanging for decades to come for many people with a learning disability or difficulties.

The Swimarathon is jointly organised by the Lions and Round Table. It takes place between 5 and 9 October. Registration is open to the public in June through the event's website HERE.
John Stuart, who has taken over leadership of the Skipton Swimarathon Committee this year, said: "I am delighted that both organising clubs have chosen to support GROW with their fantastic project for revamping the traditional site.
"The plans look fantastic and the people of Guernsey can be justifiably proud with supporting this true community project that is a real jewel in the third sector crown."
