The Scrutiny Management Committee have postponed a planned public hearing with Education, Sport & Culture this morning after concerns were raised “about livestreaming public hearings on the internet”.
The hearing was due to begin at 10:00 this morning at the Castel Douzaine Room and feature two hours’ worth of questioning of senior politicians and officials from the cash hungry committee.
Scrutiny said the decision to postpone was taken “reluctantly… until these concerns can be fully understood and resolved”.
ESC was said to be unconnected to the postponement.
Scrutiny President, Deputy Yvonne Burford said SMC “remains completely committed to making our public hearings available to as many people as possible, in the interests of openness, transparency and holding the States to account”.
A new date for the hearing will be published soon.
