Commissioned report list “overdue”

Monday 03 April 2023

Work is being done to bring a list of committee commissioned reports up to date.

Every department and committee in the States of Guernsey is required to publish any report it commissions within six months of that decision.

The information is then publicised through the Freedom of Information page on the States of Guernsey website. However, the page hasn’t been updated since mid-2021.

This is despite the States agreeing in 2013 that: "Every Department and Committee [were] to publish details (namely the title of the report, who it is commissioned by and from and date of commission) of all reports commissioned by the Department or Committee within six months of that report being commissioned, unless the publication of such detail would fall within one of the exceptions from disclosure set out in the Freedom of Information Code."

The States of Guernsey said the job of updating the list has lost out to other important jobs.

An update to the list of commissioned reports is overdue as a result of competing priorities.  This has already been identified by officers who are working to bring the list up-to-date.  An updated list will be available in May.
